Clarithromycin- Macrolide Antibiotic

Indication: Treatment of infections of respiratory tract, ear nose & throat, skin; infections caused by nontubercular mycobacteria; H. pylori-induced duodenal ulcers

[wp_ad_camp_4]Contraindication: Hypersensitivity to macrolides. Concomitant therapy w/ cisapride, pimozide or terfenadine. When used omeprazole: Concomitant therapy terfenadine, astemizole cisapride, pimozide or carbamazepine; moderately severe to severe liver & kidney function.

Adverse effect: Hypersensitivity reactions; loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, flatulence; kidney inflammation & acute renal failure; deficiencies of blood platelets; hyperactivity, anxiety, confusion, hallucinations, headache; palpitations, chest pain, irregular heartbeat; severe skin reactions; hearing impairment.
